A new high-end home in Ivanhoe, this project was driven by the client’s brief for a French Provincial luxury home that sits grandly upon the site. This home was designed by Melbourne architect Thextonsmith with luxury in mind, and luxury was what the client got.
The ground floor, being the mancave, features dark wood flooring and dark grey wall panelling as the key feature. The main sitting area on this floor features opulence furnishings and a black marble fireplace with gold details adds a cosy yet extravagant touch. This is carried on to the pool area and the TV room where, even though intricately detailed, the furnishings have a calm and homely feeling. The bar room features full height display shelves which also double as a hidden door which leads to the wine cellar which was designed to make visitors feel like they’re in a cave.
The first floor is the main living area. This level is lighter and the implementation of gold elements, luxury furnishings and natural marble make visitors feel like they’re in a showroom. The green modular sofa adds an element of colour. The white marble tv feature also doubles up as a fireplace that was designed to make it feel like it’s ‘elevated’, making it look less heavy.
The second floor contains the private living areas. We designed a separate family area that’s light and cosy. We wanted the private areas to sooth the homeowners from the glitz and glam of the other levels. The design of the master bedroom evokes calmness with the beige and gold colours gently introduced.

A modern city chic apartment, right in the heartlands of Singapore.
“This home is going to be my sanctuary; I want a home that looks like a hotel but feels like home.”
Our client came to us wanting an apartment that’s luxurious yet homely, a place that feels sultry and elegant and we certainly delivered.
A neutral white is used as the core colour for the joinery throughout the house. This allows other colours to stand out and enabled the client to have interchangeable colours and furnishings within the house, that she can easily change up to refresh the look.
Throughout the house, we added gold chandeliers, furnishings and fixtures to add into the luxurious element that the client wanted. To balance this, we also added earth tones like a dark grey sofa and beige headboard into the mix to make it a little more homely.
As this is a small apartment, having restraint and not adding too many elements everywhere ensures the space doesn’t feel cluttered.

With apartments getting more compact over time, we believe it is increasingly important to utilise clever spatial planning.
Our client came to us with a brief to design a modern contemporary theme for this studio apartment. He wanted the small space to feel spacious and bright.
We used American Oak veneer as the main element of the apartment’s joinery, creating the modern and contemporary theme the client desired.
Black and grey hues were subtly interjected throughout the apartment to create a sense of depth and masculinity.
The bedroom features a fluted panel headboard in the same American Oak veneer. This breaks the monotony of the colour as it is seen and used throughout the apartment by adding in texture and detail. Lighting is used to enhance the headboard.

Our Country House project in Gippsland, designed by Gippsland Architect Thextonsmith combines a mix of country warmth with modern luxury.
The brief was to create a warm and inviting interior design with a country-lux edge to it. The use of natural materials was highlighted by the client as a must, as was material suitability and an earthy feel. Within a fantastic architectural shell, the light filled interiors provide unobstructed views out to the farmland beyond. With these key items in mind, Thextonsmith delved into the design process.
The resulting interior is a country-luxe mix utilising natural, stones, timbers and veneers in a simple and homely way, allowing the built aspect of the fit-out to be enhanced by an interchangeble layer of soft furnishings over time. Where metals were used, these were subtle – such as in the aged brass tapware, hardware and rangehood surround, enhancing the sense of luxury, without overpowering the earthy character and feel.
Choice slabs of marble were selected for the benchtops and splashbacks, warm and rich timber veneer to the joinery, travertine flooring to the entry way and ensuite feature wall, and elegant yet organic pendant lights top off this rural elegance look and feel.
Perfect understated luxury.

Situated in the idyllic south-eastern coast of Singapore, overlooking the Singapore Straits and Marina Bay cityscape, this penthouse is the epitome of luxury living.
Our scope was to create an elegant yet luxurious home for the client where the panoramic view of the coast is the star. While keeping the colour scheme muted, the pieces highlighted in this apartment were unique and a statement all on their own. The design reflected restrained elegance and luxury.
The double story ceiling height in the living space features a cluster of museum-like pendants that draws your attention upwards, accentuating the double-story height, making it feel even grander.
The private bedrooms, however, showcase pops of colours, reflective of the individual using the space.
